What is CrossFit ?

CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program. We have designed our program to elicit as broad an adaptational response as possible. CrossFit is not a specialized fitness program but a deliberate attempt to optimize physical competence in each of ten recognized fitness domains. They are Cardiovascular and Respiratory endurance, Stamina, Strength, Flexibility, Power, Speed, Coordination, Agility, Balance, and Accuracy.

The CrossFit Program was developed to enhance an individual’s competency at all physical tasks. Our athletes are trained to perform successfully at multiple, diverse, and randomized physical challenges. This fitness is demanded of military and police personnel, firefighters, and many sports requiring total or complete physical prowess. CrossFit has proven effective in these arenas.

Don’t let the word “athlete” scare you away… all of our CrossFitters are considered “athletes”. All CrossFit workouts are 100% scalable which means they are appropriate for anyone of any age and ability level that’s looking to become fit. This means you!! Take our Fundamentals class and see what it’s all about. You’ll be on your way to a more fit, more energetic, happier, and healthier you in no time! Here at CrossFit Bozeman you will compete only against yourself to improve upon your personal records. This is not a place to bring your ego, CrossFit is a very humbling experience for even the fittest of the fit. We push, praise and encourage everyone equally regardless of their fitness level. We are here to help you become happier, healthier and fit inside and out!

CrossFit Workout of the Day (W.O.D)

The CrossFit W.O.D. is a group class consisting of constantly varied, high intensity, functional, free weight and body weight exercises, Concept II Rowing Machine intervals, and when weather permits, tire flipping and running/sprinting. The majority of our classes are put together in a circuit format resulting in a combination of Strength/Power Training, Metabolic Conditioning and Cardiovascular Fitness.  This is a fun, high energy class which, with consistency, will get you fit fast.   We do incorporate heavy lifting complexes and 1RM workouts for those looking to significantly increase strength and power and/or who enjoy the sport of Olympic lifting and Power lifting.

Skill or Challenge of the Day

This is done post-W.O.D.  It can be anything from an individual or team metabolic conditioning interval or relay to a max rep strength or power exercise.  Sometimes it will be "athletes choice" to work on a skill that he/she is interested in improving, for example: handstand push ups, ring dips, pistols, L-pull ups, muscle ups, double unders... Athletes are welcome to use the remainder of the class hour for skill work, stretching, foam rolling, etc...

CrossFit Fundamentals

This class is required prior to your participation in the WOD's.  You will be instructed on the proper form and technique of CrossFit relevant Olympic lifts and Powerlifts, body weight, and free weight exercises and the Rowing Machine.  We will also use this time as an assessment of your ability level. Please call ahead to reserve a spot in this class. Fundamentals class is $20 per person. Private instruction will be charged as a personal training session starting at $60 per hour.

CFB Strength

This class is designed to increase Strength and Power utilizing Olympic weightlifting and Power Lifts. Our goal with this strength class is to help you improve your technique and increase proficiency in the lifts. This program will help you to build strength above and beyond what CrossFit programming alone can do, as it is done separately from your metabolic conditioning under minimal fatigue. We require at least 1 month of CrossFit before joining our Strength program, unless you have an extensive background in both Olympic lifting and Power lifting.
